Red Wedding Flowers

Red is the color that has both positive and negative connotations. On the positive side it is seen as the color of love, romance and sensuality and on the negative side as the color to describe violence and destructive passion. But no matter its negative symbolism, red is often preferred over other colors even when it comes to wearing it in the fabric of a wedding dress. I have attended once to a wedding of a friend of mine, and I must admit that I was very surprised to see her dressed in red wedding attire. I had no clue that she intended to surprise us with this aspect; it is true that her wedding invitation said something about “get ready to be surprised”, but I wouldn’t have thought of this?!

Anyway, the planning of a wedding is performed with the ability to see every minor detail as part of a big picture in that it has to go well and harmonize with the other components for in the end to obtain a natural setting of a perfectly organized wedding celebration. Thus the decorative elements have to integrate nice in the overall aspect of the wedding conferring the atmosphere the air of completeness and beauty in that way that appeals the best to the invitees.

Such decorative elements are the flowers; whether you choose artificial flowers or natural ones as decorative elements of your wedding ambience you have to be sure that through their color and blossom take their right place in the symphony of colors and images that belong to your wedding celebration.  Flowers are the ones to be part of your bridal bouquet, the ones to compose the bridesmaids bouquets, the ones that decorate the button holes and corsages, the same ones chosen to be in the center of the dinner tables at your reception. And because of their overall presence they play an important role when it comes to be selected.

Red wedding flowers are often selected to be part of wedding decorations, partly because of their intense, passionate color and party because red stands for love and desire, these two features that are so obviously reflected in the spirit of a wedding. Florists on the bridal market have, among their variety of flowers colors and blossoms, the red flowers that are to be found all year around, knowing that this choice of a color is very often met in the preferences of the young brides and not only.

Some of the red wedding flowers which are the most favored: the red roses called “Grand Prix” and the so relevantly called “Passion” which, beside the fact that they present a perfect red color, they have also a texture close to the soft velvety one. Other red flowers that count among the bridal choices are: anthuriums (with their exotic aspect that bring a touch of the unusual to the bridal bouquet), freesias (so delicately exposing the passionate nature of the red), tulips, gerberas, alstroemerias. Because of the intensity of this color, brides have to take care to the red flowers, since they work mostly as contrasting color on the backgrounds (or combinations) of white, light blue, yellow, cream, generally pastel and soft hues of the other main colors. Red, the color of love can be beautifully used in the big picture of your wedding if you look to depict the passionate trait of the love that governs your soul in the biggest event of your life.
