Red Roses As Bouquet For Wedding Bad Luck

A wedding, generally speaking, is full of tradition and superstition. According to them the bride has to wear at the wedding something old, something blue, something borrowed, something new. But above all these, its bouquet is the main item.According to many people belief there are some superstitions regarding the wedding bouquet. First of all, it is said that a red roses as bouquet for a wedding is bad luck. One, because red is the symbol for blood. Consequently, it means that the bride will suffer a lot in her wedded life. The second reason is that roses are considered to be deceptive; it means that roses foresee disappointments regrading the decision to get married. More than this, it is strictly for a bride to have white flowers in her bouquet, due to the fact that it represents pureness, sincerity and sureness about the wedding.

What are these superstitions after all? old beliefs, traditional ideas it has no solid base. It all depends on you and your way of thinking. Apart from this, a wedding bouquet with red roses in it express true love. Red means passion and more when it comes about such an event. But, even if the flowers express softness and sensitivity, delicate as they are the tradition and old superstitions put them some marks. For example, carnations are used for funeral feast and consequently they must be avoided to a wedding. Then, callas are the symbol for rich and noble people.

Furthermore, colors have their meanings too, when it comes about a wedding bouquet. Yellow, for example, means jealousy so, confidence-which is a main thing in a marriage- is doubtable. Another color that should be avoided, according to may people beliefs, is purple because means dark and pessimistic thoughts.More than all these facts, there is the tradition of throwing the bouquet after the wedding. This is the expression of joy and happiness, the desire to share the luck- of finding the perfect man- with those unmarried. Consequently, if the wedding bridal bouquet is not as the tradition requires(for example if it is with red roses in it) than this moment will not happen, because it will bring not happiness but bad luck to others.

As Oprah Winfrey, a famous tv presenter, once said: “You are what you are by what you believe” I think it is representative for this subject. Above this, some people just try to respect the tradition even though they do not believe it and consider it to reveal the truth. It is more like an unwritten law, the respect for a specific culture and pride of being part of it. This is the main part of continuing it.As a conclusion, luck or bad luck depends more on fate. Superstitions and traditions are only a part of a culture, not a reason of concerning about or a main fact for our worries regarding what happens in life.
