How Much Are Wedding Flowers

Wedding flowers are a very important part of any wedding. But how much do wedding flowers really cost? Well, flower prices will be just as different as the ones who select them. Prices will depend on a few things.

One big factor is how many flowers. You will need the bouquets and the boutonnieres and the corsages, but the rest will depend on the venues, the church and reception location, how large they are and how much do they need to be decorated. Also a very formal reception will definitely require more flowers than a simpler friends and family type of reception.

Another factor is what kind of flowers you use. Prices will depend on how exotic the flowers are as well as on the season. If you want flowers that cannot be grown locally, you need to think that those flowers will be shipped in and stored somewhere. And if you will want flowers that cannot be grown in the season your wedding takes place in you should also expect higher costs. Also the type of arrangement you choose will influence the costs, as the simpler ones will be cheaper than the elaborate ones.

Then there is the matter of whether you go to a florist or you handle everything yourself. Preparing the flowers yourself is probably not a very good idea. Flower bouquets and arrangements need to be made very close to the wedding date, which is also the time when you will be most busy, most agitated and probably most tired. So you should really consider whether saving money is really worth it. Also, you will want the flowers to look their best so it is probably best to let the pros take care of that job.

If you’re trying to plan a budget for your wedding, flowers will cost around 8 to 10% of the total cost of the wedding. How much do flowers cost will depend very much on the season, but typical costs for all the flowers you will need will start at around 1000 $ and can go as high as 15000 $. The bride’s bouquet will range between 50$ and 150$ perhaps even more, depending on how elaborate it will be. It is after all the central piece to be made so it is the most expensive and will also be the most present and the most photographed.

Every piece of the wedding is important, but flowers really are the ones that embellish everything. Even if you will be watching your budget you will probably not want to settle for anything less than wonderful for your flower arrangements. But choose wisely and don’t go over the top, all flowers are naturally beautiful, it’s just the message they send out that differs.
