Wedding bouquet with herbs has no connection nowadays with the old belief. It is more an option for improving bouquet’s appearance. In other words, herbs are just decorative items. If the meaning is a lost word still there are some aspects regarding them. Let’s see.
Apart from this, herbs are much appreciated and requested to be part of a wedding bouquet because of their smells. They are used for aromatherapy so that the aphrodisiac smell is a delight. For example, lavender or basil, also mint. It is like cooking, you need to add salt or pepper to make your food more appetizing. So it is when it comes about a wedding bouquet.
Wedding bouquets with herbs have a distinctive signification as a traditional one. It means fertility, prosperity and health for the wedded life. Of course, these are insignificant references for many brides. Most of them choose such type of wedding bouquet because of the low price of it. A wedding bouquet with extra decorative items may be costly, but herbs are almost nothing regarding payment.

Furthermore, I must mention that not every type of herbs are or can be part of a wedding bouquet. First it depends on each and every person and its preferences regarding the appearance, smell, colors. Then, there are some types considered as the most requested and appreciated, but more those appropriate for a bouquet for a wedding. For example, one can choose between lavender, basil, meadow sage, mint, rosemary or Midsummer Day.
Not convinced yet? I can also add that in a wedding bouquet herbs are like the salt and pepper: a fabulous aspect combined plants with special perfumes. They make your bouquet special, distinctive from all the common types. This is something else, new and innovative. And they can be representative for any season.
All things considered, wedding bouquets with herbs have its beautifulness and uniqueness. An old meaning becomes a modern, a contemporary type of bridal bouquet. The famous quote says that a bride should have at her wedding day 4 things: “something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue”. I believe this is more that representative for herbs, as they accomplish all these aspects.
